How We Review Health Supplements at Reviews Master
At Reviews Master, we follow a structured, research-driven process to evaluate every health supplement we cover. This page explains exactly what we look for, how we score products, and what standards every recommendation must meet before it appears on our site.
We are an affiliate-supported publication. Some links earn us a commission. This never influences our scores or conclusions — our methodology is fixed before we begin any review.
Our 5-Point Scoring System
Every supplement reviewed on Reviews Master receives an overall rating out of 5, calculated across five equally weighted criteria:
1. Ingredient Quality & Transparency (0–5)
We evaluate what is actually inside the product — not what the label claims.
- Are the ingredients clearly disclosed with specific doses?
- Are the doses within clinically studied ranges?
- Is the formula free from unnecessary fillers, artificial additives, or proprietary blends that hide doses?
- Is manufacturing certified by FDA-registered, GMP-certified facilities?
- Are ingredients non-GMO, allergen-free, and third-party tested where claimed?
Score 5: Full ingredient disclosure, clinically relevant doses, certified clean manufacturing Score 4: Most ingredients dosed appropriately, minor transparency gaps Score 3: Some underdosed ingredients or limited manufacturing information Score 2: Proprietary blend hides key doses, limited certifications Score 1: No dose transparency, unverified manufacturing, or harmful additives present
2. Scientific Evidence (0–5)
We independently verify every health claim against peer-reviewed literature.
- Does published research support the core mechanism the product claims?
- Are there human clinical trials — not just animal studies?
- Are the studies from reputable journals indexed in PubMed or NIH databases?
- Does the research apply to the doses used in this product?
Score 5: Multiple human RCTs or meta-analyses directly supporting the formula’s claims Score 4: Strong human trial evidence for key ingredients Score 3: Some human evidence, mostly for individual ingredients Score 2: Preliminary or animal-only evidence Score 1: No credible evidence, or research contradicts the claims
3. Safety & Side Effect Profile (0–5)
We assess known risks based on ingredient research and real user reports.
- What side effects are documented in published research?
- Are there known interactions with common medications?
- Has the FDA issued any warnings about the ingredients?
- What are users on independent platforms (Trustpilot, Reddit) reporting?
Score 5: Minimal documented side effects, safe for most healthy adults Score 4: Mild, infrequent side effects reported Score 3: Moderate side effects in some user groups Score 2: Frequent side effects or significant medication interaction concerns Score 1: Serious safety concerns or regulatory warnings present
4. Real User Feedback (0–5)
We analyse verified customer experiences from independent platforms — not brand testimonials.
Sources we check include:
- Trustpilot (verified purchases only)
- Reddit communities (r/supplements, r/weightloss, niche subreddits)
- Amazon verified reviews (where available)
- Independent health forums
Score 5: Overwhelmingly positive independent reviews, consistent with ingredient science Score 4: Mostly positive with minor consistent complaints Score 3: Mixed feedback — genuine benefits reported alongside notable issues Score 2: More negative than positive independent feedback Score 1: Predominantly negative independent reviews or evidence of fake testimonials
5. Value for Money (0–5)
We assess whether the price is justified by the formula quality.
- What is the cost per daily dose?
- Does the formula quality justify the price compared to alternatives?
- Is there a genuine money-back guarantee with fair terms?
- Is the product available only through official channels with buyer protection?
Score 5: Excellent formula quality at a competitive price, strong guarantee Score 4: Good value, minor pricing concerns Score 3: Average value — formula matches price Score 2: Overpriced relative to formula quality or weak return policy Score 1: Poor value with no meaningful buyer protection

Our Editorial Independence
No brand can pay to receive a positive review, a higher score, or placement on Reviews Master. Affiliate relationships are established after editorial evaluation — not before. If a product does not meet our standards, it will not be recommended regardless of commission potential.
